DelCool™ extends Alexium's perpetual cooling platform with active humidity management. While it has made its biggest commercial impact in bedding, the underlying chemistry is broadly applicable — anywhere a surface, garment, or enclosure needs to stay cooler and drier than the air around it.

The science: deliquescence

DelCool™ takes its name from deliquescence — the natural phenomenon in which certain hygroscopic materials* pull water vapor directly out of the surrounding air and dissolve into their own absorbed moisture. As humidity rises around the sleeper, DelCool's chemistry actively captures that excess water, releases the latent heat of absorption away from the skin, and forms a stable salt* solution that keeps working long after a conventional PCM has fully melted. When conditions cool and dry, the process reverses and the system regenerates — ready for the next night. *Specific hygroscopic material and salt chemistry are proprietary to Alexium.
